Exhaustion.
April 13, 2007
I made the brilliant decision last night to go to bed and take my sleeping pills after 3 AM in the morning when I had to get up at 6. To cut the details short, I fell asleep while in the shower, while drying myself off when I got out of the shower, and when putting my clothes on. I’ve been tired all day until very recently where i’ve suddenly gotten a ’second wind’. Either way, i’m going to be going to bed shortly.
Target assumed my Spring break was this week and it wasn’t. They originally had me on the schedule today for 12PM-8PM. Yeah right, i’m still in school. Anyway, it was a half day so I ended up getting home at like 1PMish or so. I decided I would go to work early and get there at about 2:15PM. I kind of wish I hadn’t had done that now, seeing as how tired I was all day but it turned out to be kind of wacky and strange. A little bit after I got there and started working, Quintus came walking in smiling with his mother. He came to apply for a job and he listed me as a referral. That should actually help him seeing as my attendance record is nearly impeccable. Anyway, after he filled out his application and went and got his hours sorted out, I decided to buy us pizza from Pizza hut which was fun. We ate and talked for a little bit but then I had to get back to work.
Later on, some very strange older man came up to me mumbling about something I couldn’t understand at all. He had this crazy unibrow going on and this thick eastern-european accent where I couldn’t understand him. I don’t think he spoke much English actually. He kept saying something like “Lotreh” and “Lotrey”. Eventually, he pulled lottery tickets out of his wallet and was showing them to me. I had no idea what this guy wanted so I tried to go find Linda who was the GSTL at the time. The guy followed me and paced around behind me while mumbling various things, I was actually pretty scared. Eventually he said something like “You no have?” I finally understood that and I was like, “Yes, we don’t sell lottery tickets. Sorry.” Then he just turned and left and I never saw him again…
Anyway, I got Vanguard:Saga of Heroes recently. That game is actually pretty damn deep with the customization of your character and skills. I’m really enjoying it so far although it takes a lot of time to do much of anything. However, the amount of stuff you actually do makes up for it and the time passes by extremely quickly. I think i’m going to log on Second Life for just a few minutes while I still have this second wind.. then i’ll go to bed…
Where I’ve Been… (Spring Break, or lack thereof)
April 9, 2007
I haven’t posted since I was in the middle of a post last friday and my laptop crashed and took all I was typing with it. It utterly killed my desire to write for a while. Anyway, My spring break was last week although it wasn’t really anything special. All that really happened was me staying up waaaayyy too late every night playing various games and waking up in time for work the next day. I didn’t even hang out with anyone… Well, except for Sarah. She’s the best, we went and got Guitar Hero 2 for my 360 which is fun but hard.
Anyway, I found this thing called Second Life… I know some of you people have heard of it and are stopping right here because of it, but I don’t care. It’s the craziest place i’ve ever seen on the internet (other than 4chan). I mean, there are people paying real life money to use in virtual online strip clubs and such. I actually got a job at some online club to be an online bouncer and so i’m turning around and selling the online currency for real life cash. It’s a nice little bit too, I mean people are actually having cybersex and other weird shit for this fake money so they can turn around and sell it to make a damn living off of it. By far the craziest experience i’ve had in a while…
I’m not feeling like writing much right now because i’m really tired and stuff.. My new computer is friggin’ awesome by the way, I <3 it. My dad got me a Zune last week so if you see a Pheonix running around on yours, it’s me. I’m gonna get some rest after I check up on some things in Second Life…
Stress.
March 22, 2007
I’m not sure why, but I haven’t been feeling very well lately. I’ve been feeling very stressed out and irritable. I think it’s because I haven’t been sleeping enough lately, since I’ve always been going to bed too late but it might be some other things. I’ve been kind of tired of being single for a while now, and I wish that the gal that I’m looking at felt the same way. I’m also tired of having to do so many things at once. I just need a break, you know? I think that I will let Hakim take both my days next week since he offered to do that. At least that way I get some time to myself.
I am almost done writing this paper for Careers class. We have to write an essay about something we believe in such as a feeling or a memory/experience that we had. It’s called “This I believe”. There’s actually a website with essays on it, but I forgot the address. Mine is on my experience with homophobia and how my friend Louis changed me as a person. I’ll end up posting the final copy when it’s completely ready, I’m still tweaking it.
I just beat Armored Core 4. That game can be extremely frustrating but it’s still a lot of fun. I made a lot of custom mechs and mostly named them after Anglo-Saxon/Norse lore. For example, my main assault mech that has a killer sword is named Grendel. My fast and agile machine gun mech is named Nidhogg. Finally, my heavy weapon tank mech is named Ragnarok. I love playing it online because everyone has their own custom mech and logos and it’s all about self expression. I also love it because I usually really rip the opposition apart. I can take on two people against me at the same time usually.
It’s far too late for me to be up writing still so I need to go to bed. Hopefully I’ll stop getting into the habit of writing so late so I won’t be so tired and stressed out in the future. Good night.
Last Night.
March 22, 2007
I realize that I didn’t post anything last night and that I broke the daily posting goal that I had set. However, I was able to do it for a long time. I have noticed my entries starting to slip a little in purpose anyway since I end up posting them so late. Lately, I’ve been getting in the habit of posting right before I fall asleep at like 1 in the morning. Last night however, I ended up too exhausted from staying up so late the past week and it was too late for me to try and write one because I had my sleeping pills knocking me out.
Yesterday I went to Target even though it was my day off. I decided to help Hakim by taking his shift tomorrow even though I really don’t want to. I also got 2 new games from Target yesterday. These were Armored Core 4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. I also got Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on my 360 and that game is just confusing. I haven’t played Stalker yet but I can’t wait to try it. The game takes up a whopping 10 gigs of space! There is good news however. After having to switch my case because they couldn’t get the liquid cooling for the one I had originally wanted, I’m finally going to get my new computer albeit with a different case. The good news is that it will be here very shortly, the case is still cool, and I will still get liquid cooling.
While at Target yesterday I also opened up a Target Credit Card account. I don’t know if I was accepted or not though. I’ll be finding out in about 10 business days or so via the mail. I wanted it because I have to either use cash or a Target Visa card with my employee discount, which is crap. I wish I was able to use just my Debit card with it but I can’t. I guess it’s just Target’s way of trying to have more control over me, and frankly, it works.
My Revenge (Explosive Behavior)
March 16, 2007
Well, Harry called me up and he asked me if I wanted to play Supreme Commander, so I said “Yeah, I’m down.” Which is great, because I love to play that game with him. It was the two of us against two computer controlled players again. I noticed that I’ve become much better and I actually was building my base faster and more effectively than Harry with more units and less resources being wasted. I immediately built a nuke defense system after the last time we played. However, I also built a nuke silo…
He was in the middle of destroying one of the computer players when: “Harry, I have a present for you.” (Computer Voice): “Strategic Launch Detected.” That’s when the first nuke got launched. I ended up aiming at his support commander since they end up looking the same, but I had more in my silo. As soon as that one launched I launched another nuke at his resources to cripple him. The third that launched nailed his commander and blew him up. I can just imagine the fear that went through him as he heard the computers voice tell him that a nuke was launched. It serves him right, for doing that to me earlier.
After that, I mopped up the two remaining computers rather easily with a lot more nukes, Bombers, and my Navy. Everything died.
Shortest Misadventure Ever.
March 15, 2007
Today has been an interesting day so far, though it is still young; not even noon yet. However, I seem to have already gotten myself into a bit of trouble. Granted, I was barely able to make it onto the bus this morning because I was so damn tired from going to bed at 1 AM last night after beating Supreme Commander. I still was able to barely make it into school anyway.
I had study hall this morning which was kind of pointless since I am all caught up. I was going to go get my Philosophy stuff for third period when I noticed Janet was in the TV Room and having some trouble getting it started. I went in and got it all set up for her and her class and then went downstairs to get my Philosophy book. I came back upstairs and I went back to study hall to finish my work. I finished it and got bored and I kind of walked into Janet’s class while they were watching a movie and just sat and talked with her. Eventually, my teacher came looking for me and when she found me she was kind of pissed at me. I ended up staying with Janet’s class for the rest of the period trying to finish this damn driver’s manual.
After fourth period my advisor came and tracked me down and told me I am on Restricted Status, which is more or less making me a second-class citizen of Mill Creek. Atleast, that’s my interpretation. It doesn’t mean shit really because all that it does is that it makes me not able to sit in a certain spot before classes and at lunch. Ooooooh. Big deal, right? It more or less doesn’t even affect me. I got put on it for 2 days. Sadly, it’s the worst punishment that they can give you other than suspension because there’s no way they can keep you after for detention. Atleast I had fun in Janet’s class, right?
I guess I do walk out of my classes often now that I think about it. Strangely, I always end up in Janet’s class too. I’m not even sure why but I would think that the staff would immediately come to Janet when I’m nowhere to be found. I know that it doesn’t really count as a misadventure, but I guess it does in a sense seeing as how I ended up getting into trouble.
Other than that, nothing really has happened so far today. I’m gonna be working tonight which is always interesting. My friend Christie just got back from Hawaii, so I hope she will be working tonight too. It’s always fun talking to her and messing around with her when I should be working. That’s one of the main reasons why I like Target. I can always be messing around with almost all of my co-workers instead of working and still be working at the same time. Granted, that might be because of the Photo Lab position, but still.
I’m hoping to play Supreme Commander tonight with Harry right before work. I’m hoping we have enough time for us to play against 2 random people, but it will be really pushing it. If not, I guess we could go against each other or just team up against a computer or something. He’s pretty good at getting his stuff started right away though. I really need to work on my micro-management.
More stuff might happen later that might or might not warrant a blog post. But until there, I will be stopping here since I’ve done absolutely nothing in Latin and I want to text message some people. If something worth mentioning comes up from lunch until after work, I’ll mention it. If not, I bid you farewell.
Languid…Lassitude…
March 14, 2007
When I got up this morning, I felt like I hadn’t slept at all. To make matters worse, I had a chemistry test first thing in the morning. That definently sucked seeing as how I bullshitted my way through most of this quarter in it…
I didn’t really like having to go back to school today… Especially after having so much fun the other night. But responsibility is responsibility I guess. Anyway, not much happened today. I just kind of messed around all day, nothing new.
Well actually, I did just beat Supreme Commander… In a way that is. I finished the Cybran Nation campaign… the last map was ridiculously chaotic. I was swarmed by bombers, fighters, tons of tanks and infantry and a bunch of battleships and submarines. However, I just played it smart and built an army behind a wall of artillery and turrets. The ending was pretty cool, it just kind of ended on a cliff hanger for an obvious expansion. I can’t wait for that.
Anyway, it’s late as all hell and I need to go to sleep. I haven’t even taken my medicine yet… I just wish someone was up right now so I could talk to them on the phone. Goodnight.
NanoBreaker
March 13, 2007
The game is just silly. It’s straight out of a terrible sci-fi movie. You’re a robot cyborg soldier who is humanity’s last hope against these nanomachines that are turning people with nanomachines in them into killer robots… that bleed blood. Gallons of blood. The amount of blood in the game is simply ridiculous! You actually level up based upon how much blood you spill. In gallons. That’s how ridiculous it is.
Granted, the game is very difficult for being so cheesy. The enemies hit ridiculously hard and theres never any health items. On top of that, the game is very unforgiving and the camera is pretty crappy. That aside, it’s kind of fun just for messing around with…
